In succession of the work started under the previous Martinique project with YS~EMD, Wavepiston entered a collaboration with CreOcean to perform a wave data campaign on Martinique’s east-coast.
The project receives funding from ADEME, and is set to perform a 12-month wave data campaign at a selected site on Martinique’s Atlantic coast. Furthermore, the project will receive local support on engaging with local politicians and landowners. Getting the buy-in from local stakeholders is very important for the development of Wavepiston wave energy farms.
The project is yet another step bringing Wavepiston closer to the deployment of a pilot farm in Martinique, followed by a commercial wave energy farm.
